Pentax unveils its new camera, the Pentax Optio M40 which is an exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was unveiled in the US on the 11/7/07. The Pentax Optio M40 is sold at a price of 235in the US, no bad for all this technology. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2592 x 1944, 2304 x 1728, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The sensor on the Optio M40 is a CCD of dimensions 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter. Pentax implemented a digital zoom on the Optio M40 with an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays .

The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 40 cm. The min. shutter speed of the Optio M40 is 4 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/2000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Pentax Optio M40 camera has an internal storage of 21.9 mb extendable by using SD/SDHC card + Internal. The LCD implemented in the Optio M40 is measuring 2.5 ". A video out plug exists letting you see your pictures on television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
