Pentax arrives this year with its new camera, the Pentax Optio S4 which is a great camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was presented in the US on the 03/9/03. The Optio S4 delivers a maximum resolution of 2304 x 1728. It also supports a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (width / height) on the Pentax Optio S4 is 4:3, making a camera of 4.0 mega pixels. The internal sensor on the Optio S4 is a CCD which measures 1/2.5 " with a RGB color filter. Pentax implemented a digital zoom on the Optio S4 with an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras .

The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 40 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the Optio S4 was set at 4 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. The movie mode is supported on this camera being a very useful function. The Pentax Optio S4 includes an internal memory of 11 mb extendable with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen of the Optio S4 diagonally measures 1.6 ". There is also a video out output available making it handy to watch pictures on your television.
