Pentax arrives this year with its new camera, the Pentax Optio S30 which is a special camera and setting new standards in the market! It was unveiled in North America on the 11/3/04. The Optio S30 gets a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (width / height) on the Pentax Optio S30 has been set at 4:3, making a camera of 3.1 mega pixels. The sensor of the Optio S30 is a CCD of dimensions 1/2.7 " with a RGB color filter. Pentax added a digital zoom on its Optio S30 and included an internal flash being very common in new cameras .

The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 40 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the Optio S30 is 4 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Pentax Optio S30 includes an internal memory of 11 mb extendable with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen available on the Optio S30 measures 1.6 ". Connection to a computer is available through USB.
