Pentax impresses with its new camera, the Pentax Optio S4i which is a special camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was unveiled in North America on the 02/2/04. The Pentax Optio S4i was initially targeted at a retail price of 430in the US, a great price for such a camera. The Optio S4i delivers a maximum resolution of 2304 x 1728. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (w/h) on the Pentax Optio S4i is set at 4:3, for a total of 4.0 mega pixels. The sensor on the Optio S4i is a CCD measuring only 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter.

Pentax added a digital zoom on its Optio S4i and included an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 40 cm. The min. shutter speed of the Optio S4i is 4 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported in this version being a very useful function. The Pentax Optio S4i includes an internal memory of 10 mb and can be extended with external storage by using SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD implemented in the Optio S4i diagonally measures 1.8 ".

A video out plug exists making it handy to watch pictures on your television. Connection to a computer is available through USB. To finish, we believe the Pentax Optio S4i is a fantastic camera and we encourage anyone interested in a great camera to buy this wonderful camera.
