Pentax presents its new camera, the Pentax Optio X which is an exciting camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was announced on the North American market on the 24/8/04. The Pentax Optio X was initially targeted at a retail price of 279in the United States, a great deal. The Optio X delivers a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image on the Pentax Optio X is set at 4:3, for a total of 5.0 mega pixels. The sensor of the Optio X is a CCD of dimensions 1/2.5 " having a RGB color filter.

Pentax included a digital zoom on the Optio X with an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 40 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the Optio X is 4 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this model being a very useful function. The Pentax Optio X includes an internal memory of 14 mb and can be extended with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen of the Optio X diagonally measures 2.0 ".
