Pentax arrives this year with its new conception, the Pentax Optio S5n which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the market! It was unveiled in North America on the 13/2/05. The Optio S5n delivers a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2304 x 1728, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Pentax Optio S5n has been set at 4:3, making a camera of 4.9 mega pixels. The internal sensor on the Optio S5n is a CCD measuring only 1/2.5 " having a RGB color filter. Pentax included a digital zoom on the Optio S5n with an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays .

The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 40 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the Optio S5n is 4 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported on this camera being a very useful function. The Pentax Optio S5n includes an internal memory of 9.3 mb extendable by using SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen of the Optio S5n measures 2.0 ". There is also a video out output available letting you see your pictures on television.
